Marquis Event Design & Décor is a full-service event design company built on nearly four decades of experience, artistry and family-oriented service. Formerly known as Marquis Florals by Kim, our brand evolved to reflect what we've always delivered — thoughtfully designed, expertly executed events that go far beyond flowers.
Founded in 1987 by Kim Lovitt as the in-house floral and décor team at the prestigious Grand Marquis in Old Bridge, New Jersey, Marquis quickly became known for precision, creativity and reliability — executing 350–400 events each year and setting a standard of excellence still felt today.
Our Legacy
1987
Kim Lovitt founds Marquis as the in-house floral and décor team at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge, New Jersey.
2006
Kim opens Marquis Florals by Kim as an independent shop, becoming a trusted name for weddings, mitzvahs, milestone celebrations and corporate events.
2010
Francesca Scalise joins the Marquis team and begins years of mentorship alongside Kim.
2026
In January, Francesca takes ownership and the company becomes Marquis Event Design & Décor.

Meet Francesca
In 2010, Francesca Scalise joined the Marquis team, beginning what would become much more than a career. Working alongside Kim, she developed her passion for event design, learning the artistry, dedication and attention to detail that have defined Marquis for decades. What began as an opportunity to learn from an experienced designer grew into years of mentorship, friendship and a shared love for creating unforgettable celebrations. In January 2026, Francesca proudly took ownership of the company, carrying forward the legacy Kim spent nearly 40 years building while bringing her own creative vision to its future.
